When Vanessa emailed me and told me that she’d been wanting to learn Vedic Meditation with me for years, and now she wanted to book in with her son and his girlfriend for her 50th birthday, I was so excited for her! We had a beautiful time together on their private Vedic Meditation course in her home in Kiama with just the 4 of us in April of this year.
Since that time the three have been enjoying their practice, and here’s a little about their experience that Vanessa wanted to share with us all:
“I just wanted to say thank you Kate for such a special course with yourself, my 23-year-old son and his girlfriend.
We all learnt so much and gained our meditation practice which we are all practising going forward. I’ve been meditating every day and finding it so lovely, relaxing, and I’m really enjoying my meditating practice, which looks different everyday.
I find that I’m calmer, more measured, and less reactive most of the time.
I’m slowly seeing the changes over time and its so lovely and positive. I’ve even been sleeping better.
It was so interesting on the course listening to each other’s questions and thoughts and sharing our experiences if we felt comfortable doing so.
A little daunting at first, the learning of the unknown, however you instantly made us feel completely comfortable and at ease at the start of the course.
Meditating is something we are practising now; it is a tool I am using to help empower myself and be more aware of myself, surroundings and my reactions and feelings day to day.
I never thought I’d be saying to my 23-year-old son “how is your meditation going? And what does it look like day to day? And how does it change your outlook and reactions? It’s never a conversation I thought I’d be having with my son and my son with his girlfriend.
It is so incredibly empowering learning and then using meditation day to day.
I loved listening to the different questions and perspectives my son and his girlfriend had during the course.
I feel that the different ages in our small group of 3, was positive to our learning and practice of meditation. And then discussing and chatting during the course and between and now after. I feel it’s a conversation that can go on forever in all different directions.
And finally thank you for sharing knowledge and your experiences. And thank you for being so open, calm, and intuitive.
