Vedic Meditator: Peta Fell

Such a joy to meet and spend the past few days teaching Central Coast business owner Peta to meditate.

I met her husband in the surf and he reported back that I am “always smiling, even when there’s no waves, she’s smiling.”

The three of us met on a walk to a boat for a snorkelling trip, chatted, and by dinner Peta had found me at my table telling me she wasn’t going to let this opportunity to learn to meditate with me pass her by – “it’s not everyday you meet someone like you” she had decided.

Neither of us were originally going to be here at this time. Her trip was for her 20 year wedding anniversary which turned into her 23rd wedding anniversary, and I hadn’t planned initially to arrive until next week. Peta talked about having “dabbled” in other practices, but how 3 years ago she wouldn’t have been committed and ready to learn to meditate with me.

Serendipity we both decided.

Having “dabbled” in other practices, I loved hearing Peta talk about how I’d taken all the pressure and stress out of meditation, with no need to sit in any particular positions, not being in any discomfort when we’re meditating – adjusting the body as we need to, and importantly there being no perfect, or right and wrong inside of our practice. “It’s such a relief and it all feels so simple and so effortless. The time flies by and I feel so calm afterwards.”
