When we are ready, truly great teachers come our way. They hold knowledge. And knowledge is powerful. It is empowering. A teacher guides from that place of knowledge, to direct that fire and light which is inside of us. Inside all of us. Within we have the 95%, they’re the 5% pointing us in a direction with a toolkit and a map, and offering love and refinement along the way.
The fullest moon of the the year in the Vedic tradition is the Guru Purnima moon. An auspicious time in the Vedic calendar in which we thank all of our great teachers, our Gurus. Gu- dark, Ru – light, and this word has an element of endearment to it. Guru means a dear teacher taking us towards that light.
Guru Purnima is an opportunity to stop and take note of and be grateful for all of the growth that has come into our lives and turn our mind to our continued path of evolution.
On this full moon night of Guru Purnima we acknowledge and express gratitude for people, things, and events that have made us wiser in life. For us, we especially give gratitude to the masters of our Vedic meditation tradition who have passed down this transformative wisdom for us to experience and embody today.
Guru Purnima is a celebration of consciousness Itself, in the form of the ancient teachers; the light of the full moon; and our inner light.
May this be the night we all choose to allow more light into our lives.
Vedic Meditators are invited to join me on Wednesday July 12 at 6pm in Minnamurra and via zoom for our Guru Purnima Celebration. Please bring a flower for our ceremony of gratitude and email to let me know you’ll be attending info@katecliffmeditation.com.au

“There is a state of mind of absolute calmness, where the mind remains absolutely still, quiet and calm like the full moon. It spreads its light everywhere, the cool light of the moon. That is the state which is potentially in all of us even though it may not be active. To contact that and to pay respects to that inner being is the most important part of Guru Purnima” ~ Sri M
